The Launch of Inspiration

Kathmandu: The BBA eight semester students of People's Campus organized a journal launch event on 9th May, 2018 in the premises of People's Campus, Paknajol kathmandu. This event was organized to celebrate the two print publications and two digital platforms initiated and led by the BBA students of the campus. The print publications include Management Vision- An opinion based magazine of business and entrepreneurship and Management Vision- A research based journal of Management and Economics while the digital platforms include a YouTube channel, PC VMAG, the first Video Magazine of People’s Campus and a blog www.nepalesebusinessandentrepreneurship.blogspot.com.
The research based journal includes papers written by highly qualified PHD holders and scholars in different areas of management, economics and HR, while the opinion based magazine is dedicated towards business and entrepreneurship in Nepal. It includes interviews with Mr. Sugat Kansakar,  MD of Nepal Airlines; Mrs. Kamini Rajbhandari, MD of Nepal Telecom; Mr. Saurabh Jyoti, Director of Jyoti Group and Dr. Raveena Desraj Shrestha, ADCEO of Mega Bank - four powerful people from four different fields of management and business.
The magazine also features articles about startups like Khalti, Khaalisisi.com, Eco Cell Industries, Studio Sarcastic and a few others written by the students of People`s Campus in gratitude to local and young entrepreneurs of Nepal who have inspired and showed us the opportunities here.
PC VMAG - the video magazine of People`s Campus - has been used as a platform for students to showcase their talent and creativity. PC VMAG has launched two segments so far, namely INS-P-IRER, which features the people who are the sources of inspiration to many Nepalese, and DIS-COVER, which aims to discover the talent within the campus. The VMAG is planning to launch a new segment, Entrepreneurial Hunt, in near future that wishes to feature young entrepreneurs, and their stories.
The journal was launched by the hands of the program chairman, Mr. Mangal Das Pradhanaga; Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Tri Ratna Manandhar; Chief speaker, Prof. Dr. Tej Ratna Kansakar; and the Chief of People`s Campus, Mr. Nirmal Mani Panthi .
After the speeches from the guests, the FSU Vice-President and the editors, the co-coordinator of Management Vision, and the Director and Executive Producer of PC-VMAG, Mr. Pravash Rai gave a presentation regarding the origin, global reach and the future plans of the digital platforms, PC VMAG and the blog. After this, the BBA co-coordinator Mr. Rameshwar Karmacharya, and Asst. Campus Chief  Mr. Chhatra Mangal Bajracharya, also shared their words with the audience.
This was followed by the felicitation ceremony to the publication members and editors of the Management Vision, PC VMAG and the blog. The journal launch event was organized for the first time in People's Campus on such a grand scale, as the BBA students traditionally used to publish only an opinion based magazine annually in the past. A research based journal, a video magazine and a blog is the first of its kind in the campus history. It is a platform where the seniors are able to pave the way for the juniors and help them continue the legacy of People's Campus. As one junior member of People's Campus said, “This event helped inspire and challenge us to put in huge effort and tremendous dedication to make all these platforms sustainable”

Interview with Sugat Ratna Kansakar, M.D, Nepal Air Corporation

Q.No.1 What is Management according to you? Answer: There are two aspects in Management. First is Management and the second is Leadership. When you reach higher posts like departmental chief, section chief, or even Chief Executive Officer, leadership becomes more important. The higher you go in posts, leadership aspects become more necessary than the managerial aspects. I think, in Nepal, people have the wrong notion that leadership and management are one and the same, which is absolutely wrong. Q.No.2 Is there any difference between management we learn in our syllabus and in the real world? Answer: Theoretical knowledge is always important. The application of those theories in practical life is the real challenge. The practice becomes difficult if you have poor theoretical knowledge in the field. So, you have to read books to understand all the technicalities and principles of management. In universities like Oxford and Harvard, the researches on the techniques of mana...

Team Spirit for Better Organization

1. Effectiveness and efficiency Effectiveness and efficiency are two key elements in the whole gamut of management. In all management activities whether it be a personal or involving a small group or even the big organization, right things are formulated and then implemented in right way. The first is the effectiveness and the latter one is efficiency. Effectiveness is to do the right things and efficiency is doing the things in right way. The better and optimum result originating from any action or activities relate to these two salient aspects. If right things and approaches are not embarked or selected, the purpose or objective will not be met as per the need. Similarly even if the right things are selected but not done efficiently, the objective may not be realized as per the requirement. Hence, the harmony between the effectiveness and efficiency is paramount in order to meet the objectives or target in most cost effective way in stimulated time. A purchase of mobile ha...
